Woke up to deep snow and heavy snowing (no pictures, too snowy), and Arjun was in a bad mood as a result. After getting glimpses of sun yesterday he was really hoping out for a turn in the weather.
To make things worse, we started off on about five long, steep hills; the going was slow and tiring, and Arjun got a puncture.
Halfway through the day we stopped to eat biscuits in some woodland whilst staring at another hill, aware we weren’t making distance. By early afternoon at the top of another long, grinding hill, with it still snowing, we found a small cafe and took refuge, enjoying a hot drink and a chance to rest a bit. We left after a little longer wait than we planned, and at the end of another hill decided to stop, having only done 20km, but overlooking a large town.
