We woke up still disheartened, packed away and got on the road with headphones in, trying to forget about things.
During our break in a bus stop we entertained and fed a stray dog (there’s a lot in Ukraine), which seemed more than grateful, bounding around us and wagging its tail. It cheered up and we made more than required distance before setting up camp and waiting for phone calls from home.
During the wait we discovered that the meat we’d bought three days ago was actually a week out of date. Another thing that seems to happen a lot in Ukraine.
