Arjun had messed up his back in the night, and after Kieran returned Steven to his resting place and said some kind words, we made slow progress into the entirely closed town of Olpe. With nothing open, we moved on and despite Arjuns back made some mileage.
We stopped for water in a pizza place near Oberveischede, and also for directions at Hotel Faerber Luig in Bilstein, where the bar staff were lovely enough to give us a couple of free half litres of Hell lager. We got a bit of German off an elderly man who sat with us for a bit, and some more off the bar staff as well.
The beer worked wonders on numbing Arjuns pain for an afternoon, and we continued to make decent mileage, picking up some biscuits in Lennestadt and getting all the way to Saalhausen, where quite a way off the road, and under a clear, warm sky, we decided to camp in the open.
