We woke up really early, as the clear night sky turned into complete exposure to the heat of the sun. We drank all our water, made the short walk back to Elsdorf to refill and buy breakfast, then sat under the shade for a while to try and cool down.
We still needed to cover a lot of distance, though we were on a direct path so were confident we could do it. The cycle paths were mainly across farmers lands and we were happy to put our heads down and march, which we did, all the way the outskirts of Cologne. We had started early and finished early, giving ourselves the time to again set up camp and take a walk.
The past few days had been warm, fun, and whilst we met a few people early into Germany, we had been on cycle routes, marching for the most of it.
We spent our evening going over footage and photos and working out what we were going to edit in Cologne.
